TOPIC: PREACH SOUND DOCTRINE
TEXT: Titus 2:1-10
KEY VERSE: Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Sound doctrine is the cornerstone of Christian living. Unfortunately, there are many Churches that practice “choose and pick” in administering the word of God. It is like when you visit the supermarket and pick products of your choice, take them to the cashier, pay for them and thereafter take them home to use. They forget that God does not run a supermarket. God’s commandment is that ALL his laws must be obeyed, not selective obedience. Mathew 28:20 “Teaching them to observe ALL THINGS whatsoever I have commanded you.” Jesus told the Laodicean Church, “Buy from me gold tried in the fire so that you can be rich.” In this scripture, Jesus is not expressing the riches of the world. The riches of the world are material, but that which Jesus is talking about here are spiritual riches that well up to eternal life.

Every year, the Forbes’ List contains the names of the richest men in the world arranged in order of the size of their wealth. We have the richest man in Africa, the richest man in the world etc. When you examine this list with the binoculars of heaven, you will discover that none of them is known to the God of heaven. They are among the world’s celebrities but inconsequential in heaven. What a tragedy! What is the value of wealth in the absence of eternal life? Mark 8:36-37 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

When Jesus said “buy from me gold tried in the fire so that you can be rich,” He was referring to sound doctrine of God’s word. Jesus was saying: get the truth, buy the truth from Me so that you can preach the whole truth as a complete package of salvation. Some churches do not preach restitution, some of them don’t preach baptism in the Holy Ghost. Some go about their water baptism in a wrong way. They sprinkle small water on your head or throw it at your face instead of following the pattern laid down in scripture, which is baptism by immersion. Why are they not doing the right thing? It is because they don’t have the sound doctrine. The power of the word they preach is not strong to save. The best preacher among them can never preach the gospel of perfection because he doesn’t know it.

Thought for the day: Sound doctrine is sound life.
Song for the day: Something more than gold … the word of God in the life of man…
Bible reading for the day:
Exodus 37-38; Matthew 23:23-39

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
