TOPIC: BENEFITIAL USE OF COMPUTERS, TELEVISION AND INTERNET
TEXT: PSALM 1: 1-6
Key verse: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8.

The major beneficial uses of Internet include: Evangelism and propagation of the gospel; Promoting holiness, righteousness and truth worldwide; Penetrating closed places such as Islamic nations and communist enclaves; and providing a platform to denounce ungodly practices and preachers. Horemow messages and materials are available on the internet, on YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp and other social platforms. Other Christian literature and holiness materials are also readily available. It can also be used for academic and intellectual purposes. Here is the list of some common uses of internet:

1) Email: By using internet now we can communicate in seconds with a person who is sitting in the other part of the world. Today for better communication, we can avail the facilities of email.
2) Information: The biggest advantage that internet offers is information. It is easy for anyone to access information and it can be of any type, as the internet is flooded with information. As believers we must shun unprofitable information.
3) Business: World trade has seen a big boom with the help of the internet, as it has become easier for buyers and sellers to communicate and also to advertise their products.
4) Social Networking: Today social networking sites have become an important part of the online community. 
5) Real Time Updates: There are various websites on the internet which provide you with the real time updates in every field.
6) Shopping: In today's busy life most people are interested in shopping online. 
8) E-Commerce: E-commerce is the concept used for business deals that involve the transfer of information across the globe via internet.
9) Social Services: Many services are now provided on the internet such as online banking, job seeking, purchasing tickets for events, and guidance services on array of topics in the aspect of life, and hotel reservations and bills paying. 
10) Job Search: Makes life easy for both employers and job seekers.

Thought for the day: The internet and computer are God’s blessing to the world. Use it well.
