TOPIC: REJECT DENOMINATIONAL BONDAGE
TEXT: Ephesians 4:1-6
KEY VERSE: Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Our God is not a God of denominations. The church of God is one. The early church was under one authority and they fellowshipped together in the bond of unity. Locations were used to differentiate them such as the church in Ephesus, the church in Corinth etc. Denominationalism sprang up as a necessity but it has caused great division and damage to the body of Christ. A great majority of denominations in our day are a problem to God and to their members for the following facts:
(a) They promote their founders and leaders and obey them above Jesus.
(b) They propound denominational doctrines and obey them above God’s word.
(c) Each denomination stands alone and is independent from any other denomination.
(d) Each denomination is protective over her members and denies them access to the word of God preached by other ministers and churches to the point that Jesus and the Holy Spirit is denied access to them with the true gospel.
(e) The denominations fight each other and reject corrective assistance from others. Many of these denominations do no operate in truth and their members are denied access to the truth elsewhere to their doom.
(f) Most denominations have left the gospel of Jesus which is salvation from sin, holy living and heaven and are now teaching and inspiring their members for earthly prosperity, greatness and riches.
(g) Many churches are now operating by demons. The property they promote and the signs and wonders they perform are empowered by Satan. They promote the use of handkerchiefs, oil, water, sand, salt, and other physical objects. They turn the faith of their ignorant followers from Jesus to these dead things to their eternal doom.
(h) Unfortunately many of these churches who are given to errors threaten their members in various ways to keep them in bondage.
(i) Many churches use demonic power on their members, to keep them from understanding the word of God, and from leaving the authority of their leaders:
Thought for the day: John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Song for the day: Bind us together Lord, bind us together with cord that cannot be broken......
Bible reading for the day:
Deuteronomy 1-2; Mark 11:1-19
