TOPIC: PERSECUTION IS INEVITABLE
TEXT: Matthew 10:21-25
KEY VERSE: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10.

Getting saved is easy because it is an act of grace, but remaining saved is tough because in addition to God’s grace, it involves proving your faith in difficult times. One of the difficulties you will face as a Christian is persecution. Persecution will bring harassment, oppression, maltreatment, discrimination, torture and in extreme cases, death. This is something many Christians are not prepared for because they have set their expectations too high in this world. Preachers who give the impression that being a Christian is an all-rosy affair are not helping matters. Even Jesus did not have it easy in this world. His crucifixion was the climax of the relentless persecution by His enemies. Virtually all His disciples experienced violent death. Persecution is the road path to the kingdom of God. Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22.

Persecution comes in many forms. Evangelism can bring persecution from those who practice other religions. A believer may be hated for his holy and righteous lifestyle in the midst of perverse and wicked people. He may be denied promotion or other entitlements in the office for not belonging. Women who dress holy may be persecuted by their husbands, relatives or friends who taunt them as ugly-looking without makeups and adornments. The husband may even threaten divorce. What are we to do when faced with persecution?  Jesus says in Matthew 10:22, And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Since persecution is inevitable in the life of a Christian, you must learn to persevere under it when it comes. This is the only way to preserve your salvation. The apostles persevered in the face of severe persecution and even rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for Christ’s sake.  Let’s be encouraged by Apostle Peter’s comforting words in 1 Peter 4:14, “If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.”

Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern Text: Mark 16: 17 – 20 Wednesday May 8th Key verse: Obadiah 17 “Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” God has prepared to direct us on holy service unto Himself. He tells us when the lives and services of people are corrupt because from the heart of men proceed the works they do. When people are righteous and holy, their service is also righteous and holy. Hence, the word says, make the people holy then their service will be holy, so if you accept to live a life of holiness, then the fruit of your service will be holy. So, it is very important to accept the life of holiness because the God that made you is holy; He will give you grace to be holy. You just make up your mind to be holy. Do not accept that no man can be holy; then Jesus came for nothing, Jes...

God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider  Sunday May 12th Text: Jeremiah 3: 15 – 17 Key verse: Ezekiel 33: 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel.  Receive the word that will change you, restore you, reestablish you and give you back the hope of eternal life. Come back! The Lord is pleading. Can you see the effort of God in your life? And can you see madness in your life; resisting every effort God is making. God is calling you. Retrace your ways. Follow the good old way. Go and confess those things, do not keep them. Your problem is, you want to serve God but you have not confessed your sins openly because of shame, fear and  pride which shall be dissolved in hell. That is where your problem is. Yes, you wa...
