The Significance Of The Name “Jesus”

Sunday 16th February

Text: Matthew 1: 20 - 23
Key Verse: And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shall call His Name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
The Name “Jesus” does not refer to the Father; hence, you cannot call the Father “Jesus”. The Name “Jesus” does not refer to the Holy Spirit either, Jesus who is “God the Son” assumes this Name when He came to live on Earth as Man. “Jesus” is a human name, not a divine name. Having understood that the Word is God; in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, John 1: 1, The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…John 1: 14. Here, we can see that the Word became a human being and lived among us. Who is the Word? Jesus Christ! The Word (the Son of God) became flesh (Jesus Christ) and dwelt among us. Only the Person that possesses the Nature of God can have this Glory, John 1: 10-11
The Word became flesh (Jesus Christ); God became a human being and dwelt among us. Jesus was in the world that was made by Him but the world knew Him not. The world rejected Jesus Christ. To reject Him is to reject God, to refuse to come to Him, is to refuse to come to your Creator. To persecute those who believe in Him; and those who pledge loyalty, service, and obedience to Him, is to fight against your Creator. The name ‘Jesus’ was not God’s Eternal Name. That name which means “Saviour” did not exist before mankind came into this world. Before the creation and fall of man, there was no need for salvation or a Saviour. The Name became important because Jesus came into the world to “save His people from their sins.” Indeed, Jesus is an earthly name because there were other people who bore that name. Anybody can bear the name which means “God is our Saviour” or “God is my Saviour.” To refuse Jesus is to refuse God your Maker; the one that gave breathe to you. If you refuse Him, where will you go? If you refuse the One that made this world, where will you go? What is your hope for the future?
Thought For The Day: The Name Jesus which means “Saviour” did not exist before mankind came into this world. Jesus Christ came because of you.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
