The Choice To Ministry Is Of God
Tuesday, February 6th
Text: Mark 3:13-14
Key verse: John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
The Lord Jesus Christ chose His disciples out of many people. His personal heart was involved in the choice. It was a thoughtful choice with consideration. The word, ‘ordained’ is still the same as the word, ‘choice.’ He chose twelve to be with Him. It is important for the ministers who are truly of God to know that it is the choice of God that arrived at them, or else there will be insecurity which will cause numerous sins, carnality, and loss heaven. God chose Saul the son of Kish to be king in Israel. David reigned 40 years, Solomon reigned 40 years and Saul also reigned 40 years. God had His own full plan for the Saul but when he saw David coming up, he became envious of David and an evil spirit of the Lord entered into him; he became vulnerable to Satan and lost out because he had no confidence in God.
If you lose confidence in God’s choice, envy, and jealousy will come in against others; you will think they are coming to take over. If somebody comes with a great or beautiful gift, instead of harnessing it or incorporating him to bless your kingdom or ministry, you would envy him saying, ‘Now, he will take over.’ When the women sang, ‘Saul has killed a thousand and David ten thousand’, Saul said, “What else but that he would take over the kingdom.” God did not make a mistake when He chose Saul. He knew that he would fail in the future so He made provision. If you can learn to be confident and to trust in this God of choice. Saul was rejected when this envy became too much of him. Saul was rejected when he became carnal and lost out before God but God still allowed him to stay on the throne for forty years. Saul completed the terms of service; the time given for service. He could have completed it in righteousness and holiness but envy troubled him. He completed it miserably as a failure because he kept thinking that David was going to harm or depose him.
