THE CROSS IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE AND MINISTRY

God's blessings shall follow you for taking the time to study.

TOPIC: THE CROSS IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE AND MINISTRY

TEXT: ISAIAH 53:1-12
SUNDAY AUGUST 20TH

Key verse: Isaiah 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Talking of the life and ministry of Jesus, our text says, He was despised and rejected, acquainted with grief concerning His life. Human beings hid their faces from Him. He was never honored by men of authority in His life. Great man indeed, when Jesus came into the world, yet the world did not recognize Him. You could imagine people constantly picking up stones to throw at Him; you could imagine people spitting on his face; you could imagine human being mocking such a great personality. You can see this concerning His life, and surely concerning His ministry.
He hath borne our grief he was doing something for us, he was working for us, doing something for our good, doing something for your interest, doing something for your benefit, doing something for your present and future salvation, doing something for our eternal life. That was His ministry and it was not easy. It was a grievous service, full of pains. There were sorrows in His face, not for Himself, but for us. Full of sorrows, yea surely, He hath borne our grief, He hath carried our sorrows, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, He received pains, grieves for our peace, He was wounded for our ministry.
I am describing the cross in the life and ministry of Jesus. He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and stricken for our sicknesses. Note that there was no sin in Him because God Himself said, He is the righteous servant.” This is the life of a Christian and you must understand it so. When it gets to your turn, you cannot challenge God and say, “Why me?”

Thought for the day: If Jesus did not escape pain, you should expect it too.

Song for the day: I must go with Jesus everywhere, no matter the toughness…

Bible reading for the day: Psalm 116-118; 1 Corinthians 2

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
