TOPIC: LAY HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE

TEXT: John 14:1-3

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.   In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.   And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

KEY VERSE: 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

The end of all our faith, of all our commitments, of all our righteousness, of all our preaching, is eternal life. Paul said, if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. We live in houses or worship in buildings built by somebody, and we cannot say whether the person is a Christian or not.

This means the glories of this life are not necessarily in the hands of children of God. The devil boasts about the glory of the world when he told Jesus, “All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” So Jesus rebuked him and said, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

For Jesus came not to have the world, but to give us another kingdom. He said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my disciples would have fought that I be not delivered unto the Jews, but that I yielded to them showed clearly, my kingdom is not of this world. I came to testify of the truth to the world.”

Jesus came to raise up people for another world. Those that have been of God from the time of the fall of man have always looked forward to another world. This is the world of eternal life.

Bible says in Hebrews 11:16, “They desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.”

In today’s devotional text, Jesus Christ was presenting to His disciples another kingdom, another place which he called “My Father's house.” Another building which he calls mansions. Another life: “where I am, there ye may be also.” A place where I am ever living; an eternal abode.

Moses said, if the people ask me, what is the name of the God that met with you; what do I say to them? He answered, tell them, I AM who I AM ever present. The Lord has given us opportunity to be ever present, to take us to where we will ever be there with Him.

The Lord is fashioning a people, transforming a people, perfecting a people for His eternal kingdom; for eternal life. That is what brought Him into the world. Make sure you are part of this I glorious and peculiar people.

Thought for the day: Let nothing in this world take eternal life from you.

Song for the day: What is the hope that we have? The Kingdom of God is the hope that we have...

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. UNDERSTANDING ETERNITY WEDNESDAY MAY 10 TEXT: Psalm 90: 1 - 2 Key Verse: “The Lord is King forever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land Psalm 10:16 People that understand eternity are always careful. Eternity means forever and ever, it means ever-lasting, ever-living, never dying. Trillion upon trillion years, eternity is still on, in fact it is life without end. There are two extreme ends of eternity: The kingdom of God called third heaven where God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Ghost, twenty-four elders, saints of God that make heaven, holy angels of God, and entire host of heaven dwell now presently; Hell-fire, where Satan, demons, and sinners that have died in their sins are presently kept. God is the One that introduced eternity. He lives forever. It is not a choice, the One who created us is forever, hence you will live forever, but what matters is where you will live eternally. Remove God from the way, then t...
PRACTICE OF PRAYER AND FASTING.  WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1 TEXT: ISAIAH 58:1-8                                                                                                        Key verse: “And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day”  Luke 2:37. The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...
