TOPIC: SALVATION IS FREE BUT NOT EVERYBODY WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN

TEXT: Proverbs 1:22-33

22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

25 But ye have set at naught all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

27 When your fear cometh as desolation and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:

30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their way, and be filled with their own devices.

32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

KEY VERSE: Proverbs 1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Salvation is free and the process of receiving it is very simple, yet not everybody desires to be saved. This is another mystery about mankind. Even among those in the church, not everybody is there for salvation. Otherwise, why do we still have witches and wizards there?

In Zaria, a city in northern Nigeria, a man went to a preacher and said, “Pray for me; I want to be healed of my sickness.” The preacher said, “Okay, I want to also pray for you that you should be saved from your sins. Do you want to be saved from your sins?” Surprisingly, the man replied that he only wanted to heal from Jesus and was not ready for Jesus to save him from sin.

This is the condition of many today. They are not yet ready and that is why they are where they are despite their presence in the church, despite the number of preaching they have heard, they are just not ready. After Peter requested Jesus to invite him to walk on the water, he jumped into the sea. That is faith manifested by works.

You want Jesus to save you, but what attempt are you making to be saved? You tell Jesus you don’t want to drink alcohol again, but early in the morning, you are already on your way to the bar. What effort are you making to stop drinking alcohol after asking Jesus to help you stop the habit?

Faith without works is dead! The bird that flies first flaps its wings, then the air helps it to fly. When did you flap your wing? You are not making any effort and that is why you are not saved; that is why you are not born again. You have not made effort to confess your sins; you have not made effort to stop sinning.

You promised you won’t go after men for immorality again but when one of your partners in immorality called you, you picked the call. I tell you that you are not yet ready. Where is the work of salvation to show that you have made up your mind? You never attempted. If you attempted, you would have seen that there is power in you to keep you from sinning.

Thought for the day: Being in the church is not an assurance that you desire to go to heaven.

Song for the day: Heaven is holy, you must be holy for no sinner will enter there

Bible reading for the day: Genesis 31-32; Matthew 10:24-42

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
