TOPIC: WEDDING MUST BE DEVOID OF WORLDLINESS      December Thursday 17th

Text: Revelation 19: 5-9

Key verse: Revelation 19: 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Christian wedding must show forth the holiness and glory of God and be completely devoid of all forms of worldliness. Such times are joyful times for brethren to gather around the bride and bridegroom as holy brethren. That is why the church supervises all arrangements up to the last day of wedding. We prayed for you to have a wife or husband and supervised your courtship and engagement, now we need to rejoice with you. If we must rejoice with you, everything in that wedding must be holy. The bride must dress holy: no earrings, no perming, no weave-on, no make-up, no hair attachments, no wedding rings and no worldly wedding gown. Provide your own wedding gown to fit you the way you want to appear in the righteousness of God. It is honour to God in the Church.

The activities there (singing, dancing, praise and worship) must not be worldly. There must be a difference between a Christian wedding and that of a sinner. There must be a difference between the wedding conducted by Holiness Movement and that of churches that do not preach and practice holiness. The food eaten there must be decent. It is not a place of show-off for pride. Some want to produce souvenirs as gifts to their guests. Please we don’t want you to set a standard too high for other brethren so that you will not cause people to offend. They will be afraid to marry because of the extravagant standard you have set.

However, you may adopt some better ideas such as sharing of tracts, Christian literature and other gospel materials during the wedding reception. That is the mark of a Christian. Plan to share CDs to all the guests. It is a great opportunity to reach out to your in laws, friends and well wishers with the doctrines of truth, righteousness and holiness. So, share your good ideas to the marriage committee; they will judge it and approve as appropriate. If Holiness Movement is to handle your wedding, we will not allow your family members to dictate or take-over proceedings. Rather they should observe the standard of holiness we are setting. It is the time for them to know Jesus for themselves; therefore conduct your wedding in a way that God will be glorified.

Thought for the day: A holy child will conduct his or her wedding in a holy way.

Song for the day: I am married to Jesus, Satan leave me alone

Bible reading for the day: Obadiah; Revelation 8

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
