TOPIC: PRAYER PROVOKES GOD INTO ACTION
TEXT: 2 Kings 20:1-6
KEY VERSE: John 14:14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

The power of prayer is beyond comprehension. Prayer and faith work together. Prayer matched with faith can practically move mountains. Jesus says in Matthew 17:20, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Prayer is like the emergency line. No rescue official ignores emergency call. God is there for you like an emergency officer, waiting for you to put your call through. God says in Jeremiah 29:11-12, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.” In this text God is saying, “I already know what you need and I am ready for you, but you need to call on me first.” Those who know this truth about God never fail to tap into the waiting opportunity to be blessed through prayer.

Prophet Isaiah brought a bad news to king Hezekiah saying, “Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.” Hezekiah was not prepared for death yet, so he went to Him that holds the keys of life and death. He told God, “I don’t want to die. I want to live.” God loved his courage. God loved his prayerful approach. Hezekiah was to die from his terminal ailment, but before Isaiah could reach his house God sent him back to the king, “Say to Hezekiah: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you … and I will add fifteen years to your life. 2 Kings 20:5-6. Suppose Hezekiah had kept quiet; he would have died from that sickness. He would have missed the opportunities of healing and additional fifteen years that followed. When you keep quiet over your problem and do not pray to God, you miss out on opportunities, you miss out on blessings. But when engage God in prayer, you become a recipient of divine blessing and open doors. Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Thought for the day: Stop complaining. Take your case to God in prayer.
Song for the day: Prayer is the key … Prayer is the master key

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
