TOPIC: TRUTH IS THE CURE OF IGNORANCE
TEXT: GENESIS 20:1-8
KEY VERSE: JOHN 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

In the secular world, scientists, politicians, educationists and other enlightened members of the society lament over the evil and death pangs ignorance casts upon men and women in the society. From biblical perspective, the world is in total ignorance of God’s way of salvation. This is the reason for the diverse beliefs and religions that strive along with Christianity among men. It is unfortunate also to say that the major portion of the church of Christ today is ignorant of true biblical teachings required for their holiness and eternal life. An ignorant man is like a man moving towards a fast-moving truck with his eyes closed. This is very dangerous! He could be crushed by the truck. In Law, ignorance is not an excuse. Even with God, ignorance is not an excuse. Leviticus 5:17 says, “And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.” This is why it is in your interest to know all the truth of God in holy living and live by them to preserve your salvation.

In today’s reading text, despite King Abimelech’s claim of innocence and pureness of heart, he was still subject to the judgment of God. When confronted by God, this king pleaded innocence due to his ignorance of the truth about Sarah’s marital status. But did that exempt him from the judgment of God? No! He had committed sin, broken God’s law by taking another man’s wife and was entitled to death according to God’s word. The king argued his case with God, thinking he would be justified, as many do today thinking God will understand because of their peculiar situation. The king’s ignorance did not exonerate him from God’s judgment— the king was doomed to die. In the same way, if you break God’s commandment on the excuse of being a widow or an orphan or on account of joblessness or any other pitiable condition, God will still hold you accountable. Know the truth about the ways of God and be saved.

Thought for the day: Only the truth can set you free.
Song for the day: On the last day, on the last day, only true believers shall be raptured.
Bible reading for the day:
Exodus 29-30; Matthew 22:1-22

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
