TOPIC: RATIONAL USE OF LAPTOPS, IPADS AND HANDSETS IN CHURCH
DECEMBER Thursday 27th
TEXT: Daniel 12: 3-4
KEY VERSE: And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2: 2
QUESTION: Is it right as a man of God to use laptop or phone for preaching on the pulpit instead of Bible? Secondly, is it right for members to use them in the church?
ANSWER: Well, every preacher should study his environment. There is an environment that you can do that and nobody will be offended. It is not a sin to you; but there is an environment that you can do that and the people will be offended at you and you have done the wrong thing. So, know your environment. Essentially, there is no sin in using them there but if you come to a congregation of ignorant people who don’t know that there is no sin there and you are pricking their conscience, you are making them to commit sin and you are not working in wisdom and understanding, you are sinning; Also ensure you do not distract others while using these gadgets. Often, notifications could appear if your system is online that may carry you off!
However, when you go to a congregation where the people are enlightened. “Oh this laptop, I like this model”, “Oh what software are you using? How did you get it?” That is an enlightened community. Is that clear, they will not feel that you are committing sin. We need to understand this because whether you like it or not, hard copy Bibles may be replaced by electronic soft copy Bibles in future. That’s the world! You may not even easily find the hard copy Bibles again! What they will be selling in the market may be a Bible VCD or Software or a different thing. You will just have to buy. You know we were using radio cassettes before; can you find it to buy in the market now? It has become DVDs, CDs. Another thing may come and wipe that one out as knowledge and innovation increases.
Thought for the day: God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
Song for the day: God must be honored in my life every day
Bible reading for the day:
Zechariah 4-6; Revelation 18

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
