TOPIC: SHOULD A BELIEVER MARRY AN UNBELIEVER?
DECEMBER Thursday 13th
TEXT: 2 Corinthians 6: 14-18
KEY VERSE: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2 Corinthians 6: 17
QUESTION: Abraham asked his servant to go to his homeland and find a wife for Isaac, knowing that Abraham’s relations were idol worshippers. Why did Abraham order the servant to go to his home and marry whereas they were sinners?
ANSWER: Abraham was in the land of Canaan and Canaan was cursed by Noah, and their lives were terrible. If you heard the complaint of Rebecca about the wives of Esau, she said, let not Jacob marry among the Canaanites. But the family of Abraham knew the living God; they had idea; they knew the living God; in a way they served the living God, except that they also worshipped idols. So they were not like these people of Canaan. They were better religiously because they had the knowledge of the living God. He was not strange to them; they knew Him already. If you look at the language of Laban he was always talking about God because they knew Him, but they were not true worshippers of Jehovah in the sense of righteousness and holiness. Abraham asked Isaac to marry there because there were no other people in the world that were righteous, no community of people that you could say, Oh these people were like Abraham. The Lord was starting this life of faith in Abraham and Abraham knew his own people that they had the fear of God. If Isaac got a wife from there, they will flow freely with the word and will of God.
We cannot do the same and say, go to my own people and get me a wife. No! Why? Now we have many believers in the world, children of God that the Lord can choose for you to marry. Besides in this period emphasis is on born again, on righteousness not on tribal link but on faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Christian marriage must be within the household of faith. You will not go to your village to look for your wife there! God will give you a wife. If she comes from your village, she must be born again and it must be the will of God. It is not after the pattern of the former world where righteous people were not there. In the days of ignorance God winked at, but now things are to be done in holiness.
Thought for the day: Christian marriage must be within the household of faith.
Song for the day: My wife shall be a blessing, my children around my table

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
