TOPIC: ANOINTING OIL MUST NOT REPLACE THE GOSPEL OF FAITH
OCTOBER Thursday 25th
TEXT: Hebrews 11: 1-6
KEY VERSE: O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? Galatians 3: 1
The gospel of Christ is called the gospel of faith. Without seeing you believe, but men will want to see and will want to touch. And will turn that which he sees and touch it to idol. So now, we see people who have exalted anointing oil, they’ve exalted it, they carried it about; without it faith has been destroy. If you want them to have faith brings out the anointing bottle. There are people that have exalted administration of injections so seriously, if they come to the hospital and you give them drugs without injections, you are wasting time; their faith is not going to catch that. So, even if the thing doesn’t need injection, what do you do? Put sterile water inside the syringe and inject that water inside him, he says “Ah! Thank you!” It is then they believe they have received treatment. Some ministers have turned the faith of the people to anointing oil, such that without rubbing somebody with oil, forget the prayer you are praying for him, his faith cannot catch. O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that ye should turn away from the gospel of faith? Did you receive the Holy Ghost by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith? They have bewitched the church to those things, and if we want the glory of the Lord to reappear, then repent and remove those things that are contending with His glory, that are removing the faith of His people from Him. He wants us to know Him in our heart.
The Bible says that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, for by it the elders obtain a good report. Come back to faith, absolute faith. Also concerning the use of aprons and handkerchiefs, there are unique miracles that God does once or for a period, but does not continue with them, and you don’t ask Him to do them; He chooses to do them by Himself. “You just tell me what you want; I can choose what to do.” He chooses to release those miracles, and they may happen once in a generation. Don’t ask Him the second time, since He didn’t do it the first time because you asked. He caused the red sea to dry up. Are you going to be asking the red sea to dry up? No. Is not a promise given to you in the physical sense, that when you want to cross the river ask God that He should dry it for you. It’s unique; it was done by Moses, by Elijah, by Elisha. That ended the issue of the sea drying up, that ended it. So don’t come instead of looking for a boat or a way of crossing the sea, crossing the river, you say, “my God can dry it up”. You will pray there until you perish, because He has not given you that promise.
