TOPIC: REVIVING PERSONAL EVANGELISM. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 20
TEXT: JOHN 4:5-29
KEY VERSE: “Wist ye not that I must be about My Father’s business?” (Luke 2:49).
Personal evangelism is the person-to-person sharing of the gospel of Christ with sinners with the aim of leading them to salvation. The primary purpose of Christ's coming into the world was to die for the salvation of man. He came to seek and to save the lost. That was His main business. He did not allow any other thing to becloud His vision of saving the lost. He came for that purpose and died for it. Christ preached to great multitudes which came from many regions of the world to hear Him. He used the personal evangelism strategy to reach individuals and families. He used different approaches to reach different people and all were very effective.
With Nicodemus, Christ used a direct approach: “Ye must be born again.” With Samaritan woman, He used an indirect approach: “Give me to drink.” With the woman caught in adultery by the scribes and Pharisees, He used a situational approach and concluded “go and sin no more.” He applied the same approach to the informants who told Him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. “Jesus answering said unto them; ‘Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.’” Similarly, Jesus reached out to His twelve disciples who He called apostles through personal evangelism.
For a local church to grow, the members must go and preach the word right where the sinners are. Many sinners do not go to church; therefore, the church must go out to meet them where they are; in their houses, offices, towns or village squares, civic centers, play grounds, hospitals, prisons, schools, market places. No other business should thrill the heart of a New Testament believer than personal evangelism. Winning the lost is a task that must be done. Failure to do it out carries great consequences.
Sinners cannot get saved without the preaching of the gospel. It is the soul winner's duty to preach to them. The implication of neglecting personal evangelism includes (1) The loss and waste of ripened harvest. (2) Requirement of sinners' blood from negligent soul winners. (3) Christ is ashamed of Christians that neglect to witness. (4) Loss of soul winners' reward. (5) Spiritual decline and stunted growth of the local churches. (6) Delay or denial in answer to prayer.
Awake from sleep and recover your lost art of evangelism.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
