TOPIC: HUMILITY IN WOMEN MINISTERS.   TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 12

TEXT:   1 Peter 5:5-6
KEY VERSE:  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering. Colossians 3:12.

There is something that is noticeable in the ministry of the women in the Bible:

Judges 5: 9
My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.

By this declaration, Deborah did not raise herself above the men she led and who worked with her. She did not despise the authority of men. If she did she would have brought blemishes on herself. That would mean usurping the authority of men. Her ministry was run in recommendation and commendation of men. All were blessed and God was glorified. The wise woman counsellor in 2 Samuel 20:16-19 demonstrated this womanish humility in her ministry in the way she approached Joab (2 Samuel 20:16-19). Though older, she called herself his handmaid. With her sweet pacifying words, she was able to bring down the anger that was in Joab, thereby saving the city from destruction. Likewise, Abigail had humbly called herself the handmaid of fleeing David and taken her husband’s blame in order to save her family from destruction (1 Samuel 25).

We see in these women and several others, humility, holiness and success in ministry. God does not want the woman to think that she is higher or greater than the man. She must recognise the authority of man because it is given by God right from creation and He wants this to be maintained whether in secular or spiritual matters. He wants the woman to acknowledge this and not to behave otherwise, simply because she has certain gifts or calling.

1 Peter 3:6

Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

The woman should know always that she is a subordinate and that it is God that has designed it so. She should not try to change the order as that will make her incur the wrath of God. She must remember always her position by nature and should not rush to sit on the throne over the man. As long as a woman understands this and submits to it she will do great exploits for the Lord with full honour and support of men.

Thought for the day:  Be humble in service, that God may lift you up in due season.
Song for the day: Make me worthy o Lord

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
