TOPIC: ZEAL WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE IS UNPROFITABLE. FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 15
TEXT: Romans 10:1-3
KEY VERSE: For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. Romans 10:2.
There are many who profess Christ but live contrary to his teaching. Many are involved in denominational religious practice but they are not obeying the teaching of our Lord. Some of them are indeed sincere and zealous for Christ but they are not continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine. Care must be taken not to bring the name of God into disrepute in the course of serving Him or do anything that could bring about a fall.
Let us consider the believer’s relationship with the opposite sex in ministry. When Jesus the man of Galilee went about ministering to people from place to place, the disciples were all men. The reason is not known, perhaps it is because of the risk involved. To go about with women in ministry is risky, especially when mixed with men. Some of the women disciples were married and mothers of children and home keepers who cannot leave their immediate environment. May be these were the reasons why Jesus did not mix women with the men, being careful that His ministry be not abused.
It is vital to say that women in particular must be very careful not to abuse the gospel of Christ through zeal without knowledge. A particular woman minister came to Abuja, Nigeria, knowing no one and having no money. She said the Holy Ghost led her to the City to preach. She ended up lodging in the same room with a man, cooking and eating together. God surely did not send her or else she acted foolishly to her destruction. The woman must be disciplined. She must not waste her life. She must not go about recklessly in the name of ministry. She can easily fall into immorality. Promiscuous men can easily overcome her when she is unduly exposed. She must, therefore, be wise and calculate her ways. She must display the dignity of Christ’s minister and purity of a true Christian woman. Seek counsel and be guided in ministry. In the same manner, men must not expose themselves unduly to temptation in the course of serving God. Too much intimacy with the opposite sex is an invitation to disaster.
Thought for the day: Zeal without knowledge is like smoke without fire.
Song for the day: When you come to collect your people
Bible reading for the day: Proverbs 28-29; 2 Corinthians 7

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

The Source Of Faith

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. The Source Of Faith  Tuesday 18th March Text: Romans 1:16-17 Key Verse: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 What is the foundation for our faith? The faith of the just man has the following sources, from where it gets its inspiration. The Word Of God: The foundation of the faith of the just, is the word of God.  The word of God is the production room of the faith which the just exercises. The faith of the just has its foundation in what God has said in His word.  Faith seeks for what God has said to stand upon.  Have you seen the promises of God for you, from the word? Have you seen God's message for you, in the scriptures?  Believe it absolutely, and it shall surely come to pass. This will enhance your faith for subsequent needs of your life. “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, ...
