EVERY CHRISTIAN MUST LEARN HOW TO PRAY

God's blessings shall follow you, for taking out your time to study.

TOPIC: EVERY CHRISTIAN MUST LEARN HOW TO PRAY

TEXT: MATTHEW 6: 5-8

SUNDAY DECEMBER 17TH

Key verse: Mark 11:17 And He taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.”
Prayer was one of the major worship activities of the early church. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. Hence every believer in the church needs to know how to pray. It is the duty of Christ's minister over the church to teach the members how to pray, both by the scriptures and by practical prayer sessions during the worship service. Those who come to church should learn to pray and to give themselves to prayer. Their prayer focus must first be on spiritual things: the salvation of their souls from sin, the sanctification of their hearts and holiness of their lives, spiritual progress in the Christian life and service, destruction of all opposing forces of Satan against their lives, and body, etc.
They can proceed to ask God for other needs of their lives. Intercession should also be made for others for the will of God to be done in their lives: their salvation, spiritual progress, ministerial fruitfulness, supply of needs, etc. Intercession also should be made for the ministers, members, programs, and projects of the church. They should also intercede for the government, nation, those in authority, and for humanity in general, telling God, “Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
A good time should be given for the worshippers to pray at the beginning of the worship service. After the ministration of the word of God, a good time should also be spent on prayer so that the Spirit of grace and the word of God will have a good course in their lives. We have Bible promises to claim and Bible prayer examples and patterns to follow. Our prayer spirit, fervour, language, and mannerisms should be scriptural. Praises and thanksgiving should always ascend to God for His answers to our prayers. We must avoid hypocrisy in prayer and vain repetitions as the heathen do.

Thought for the day: Avoid hypocrisy and vain repetitions as the heathen do.

Song for the day: Prayer is the key

Bible reading for the day: Obadiah 1; Revelation 8

Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern Text: Mark 16: 17 – 20 Wednesday May 8th Key verse: Obadiah 17 “Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” God has prepared to direct us on holy service unto Himself. He tells us when the lives and services of people are corrupt because from the heart of men proceed the works they do. When people are righteous and holy, their service is also righteous and holy. Hence, the word says, make the people holy then their service will be holy, so if you accept to live a life of holiness, then the fruit of your service will be holy. So, it is very important to accept the life of holiness because the God that made you is holy; He will give you grace to be holy. You just make up your mind to be holy. Do not accept that no man can be holy; then Jesus came for nothing, Jes...
REMAIN BLESSED AS YOU TAKE YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD AMEN. PRAY CONSTANTLY                                                                      FRIDAY 11 MARCH TEXT: Luke 18: 1-7 Key verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Pray without ceasing. I wish My children, whilst upon earth, to live more and more with Me in “the heavenly places”. Here, there is no fear or hurry or fret of spirit. I am gratified when you wait upon Me –which waiting I always honour. My thoughts, as you wait upon Me, are impressed upon you: all that I am must be increasingly absorbed by you. It is as you wait upon Me that I give to you that sense of calm assurance which you must carry about with you always. It comes from knowing that everything you have committed to Me is being surely worked out. Yes, immerse yourself in Me –and do ...
