CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD CHURCH OF CHRIST

God's blessings shall follow you, for taking the time to study.

TOPIC: CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD CHURCH OF CHRIST

TEXT: ACTS 4:23, 29-33
SATURDAY DECEMBER 16TH

Key verse: 2 Timothy 2: 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
The Bible reveals the characteristics of the fellowship of true believers. Look for a true church of Christ and worship God with them. Again, do not allow the politics of religion or denomination to affect your obeying Bible instructions which are for your eternal life. As seen from our text and key verse, a true church of Christ is built upon the word of God. The leaders faithfully preach and teach the word of God. They do not change Christ's doctrines along with the changing world. The members serve God in righteousness and holiness. The presence of God is clearly manifest among them in the demonstration of power and gifts of the Spirit.
Locate a true church of Christ and worship God together with the brethren. This will help to preserve your Christian faith and prepare you for eternal life. If you are a minister over a congregation, make sure you practice and teach all the word of God so that you can save yourself and those who hear you. It is unfortunate that many churches today have slipped into the fleshly gratification of music and dancing. During the ministry of the word and prayer, the members are dull and sleepy. They become fully awake and active when music and dancing resume. The preachers are being tempted to introduce music and dancing regularly and to prolong this period during worship service to keep the worshippers awake. This is seen as dance worship and they feel that God is greatly glorified by it.
Unknown to them, this is Satan's subtle device to steal away the word of God and prayer from the church and deny sinners and believers concentration on the word of God and prayer by which they can be saved, sanctified, and empowered. Christian music and worship must be pure and holy and be devoid of worldliness. Many churches use music and dancing, not the word of God and prayer, to preserve their youths. Neither such churches nor their youths have a future.

Thought for the day: Do not build upon sand but on Christ the solid rock.

Song for the day: In the presence of God, Alleluia joy…

Bible reading for the day: Amos 7-9; Revelation 7

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
