IS FAMILY PLANNING SCRIPTURAL

God bless you for taking your time to study.

TOPIC:  IS FAMILY PLANNING SCRIPTURAL?

TEXT: GENESIS 38:6-11

SUNDAY OCTOBER 23rd

Key verse: And the thing which he did displease the LORD: wherefore he slew him also. Genesis 38:10
QUESTION: Is it proper to use contraceptives since Onan was killed by God because of withdrawal and spilling of semen on the ground during intercourse?
ANSWER: That is a misinterpretation of scripture. Onan was told to take his brother’s wife and produce a child because his brother died. He didn’t want it and he was spilling the semen on the ground so that no child should be formed. He didn’t want that act of love for his brother because he was a wicked person. God killed him, not because he was spilling on the ground but because of his reason for spilling on the ground. Some people have wet dreams and wake up to discover they have spilled on the bed. Has God killed them? Onan’s sin was deliberate and planned; that of the heart. The scripture is not against contraception done in love and good faith to achieve manageable family size.
Did God say there should be no birth control? He told Adam to be fruitful and multiply. How many male children did He give to Adam? Two! Abel died, and he was replaced by Seth. God said to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth yet in Adam, there were only two sons recorded. It is not one family that should do it. God made Abraham a father of many nations but He gave Abraham only one child through Sarah. How many did He give Isaac? Two! Isaac was also to be fruitful and multiply. Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom. If a man and his wife feel that for convenience and righteousness they only need two sons, will God judge them? They have not broken the law to be fruitful and multiply which is for all mankind not only for their family. Though God desires us to bear children, He expects us to apply or exercise wisdom in this regard. Having children is a blessing but if you do not control the number of your children you will live with a lot of regrets. It is advisable to have a sizeable number you can care for and still be righteous and faithful before God.

Thought for the day: Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom.

Song for the day: Abraham’s blessings are mine…

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
