DOING RESTITUTION FOR PEACE AND CLEAR CONSCIENCE

DOING RESTITUTION FOR PEACE AND CLEAR CONSCIENCE

TEXT: PSALMS 119: 165-168

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 12TH

Key verse: Ps 119:173 Let thine hand help me for I have chosen thy precepts
A testimony from Brother Mark Agoh of Kuje chapter: I was the principal of lyale community secondary school, Dekina, from 1981 to 1984. In the process of developing the school, I had to construct and equip science laboratories. This was necessary as the school was preparing its first set of students for WAEC examinations. I traveled to Benin City to purchase science laboratory equipment and chemicals and I did over-invoicing to the tune of about five hundred naira. From this money, I brought a motorcycle worth four hundred and fifty nairas. I did other over-invoicing which I cannot account for.
In January 2020, I went to this school, met the principal, and confessed all these to him; the over-invoicing and the purchase of the motorcycle Suzuki 80. I promised that I will pay the money and add five times it. The principal called all the staff of the school and narrated what I said. He prayed for me and said that the gates of heaven are opened unto me already and that my good records in the school are yet to be exceeded. He further asked me whether I would agree that the school will forgive me and not pay back the money which I gladly accepted. He said that on behalf of the school, he has forgiven me. He also advised all the staff to learn this action and follow suit. He prayed for me and I left.
Before traveling for the restitutions, I sat down with my wife and confessed all sins I have committed against her; how I cheated on her in all the villages and towns we worked in, including Iyale, Dekina, Benin, and other places. I confessed to telling her lies many times. Whenever she requested money, I would tell lies that I did not have. I asked her to forgive me. She said she has forgiven me all my sins from the bottom of her heart and I also said I have forgiven her too for all errors she might have committed against me. After I made this restitution, I had great peace in my heart that I cannot imagine.

Thought for the day: Thank God for showing me the truth in HOREMOW.

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
