LET THE MARRIAGE COMMITTEE GUIDE YOUR COURTSHIP

TEXT: Exodus 18: 18 – 24

FRIDAY AUGUST 12th

Key verse: Proverbs 15: 22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established
Parental introduction and courtship can commence with the guidance of the marriage commitment. Courtship in marriage is a period given to the marrying partners for familiarization, planning, and discussion of their future home. This is useful to enable them to harmonize their vision, purpose, and desires since both of them are two separate entities. It could be that the woman as a single lady has been planning to build a Nursery-Primary school in her hometown while the man on the other hand is planning after his marriage, he will be relocating to another city for their livelihood to continue there.
Exodus 18:23-24
23 If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all these people shall also go to their place in peace.
24 So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.
The courtship period is meant for them to prayerfully fuse their ideas in favor of the ones acceptable to them both. It is a time to discuss and agree on how many children they can conveniently carter for in their marriage. In this wise, there is a need for agreement between the intending couples and the leadership of the church.  The marriage committee and the marriage partners should both define the period of the courtship as should be suitable.
The period should be considered short so as not to hurt emotions. The committee should put a supervisory eye on the intending couples from time to time to avoid wedding immoral people in the church of God. All their movement together during the courtship period should be examined and where necessary, a third party should accompany them for their spiritual security.

Thought for today: If you take good counsel, you will marry rightly

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
