DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
18TH MONDAY APRIL
WITHOUT HOLINESS, OUR LABOUR ON YOU IS IN VAIN
TEXT: LUKE 1:74-75
KEY VERSE: MATTHEW 5:48 “Be ye perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect”
We are in danger of labouring in vain if we are not able to bring people to perfection. Our preaching and work over you are to bring you to the state of holiness. If we helped you to be born again but could not make you holy, then our labour is in vain, because you cannot go to heaven.
Hebrew 12: 14 “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord”
Without holiness, no man shall enter Heaven. Although you can be appointed to be a leader, your position cannot give you heaven. No! You go to heaven by your holiness. You can be given gifts or promotions but not Heaven. It is when true preachers finish their course and wear the crown, they look for those they have laboured on in Heaven, but when they do not show up, then it is painful as the labour is in vain. All the fasting and prayers are in vain. What has the teacher benefitted if he was not able to graduate a student who was later expelled?
Luke 1:74-75
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
What is the benefit of that pastor and ministry if they cannot make someone holy? If the pastor of that denomination does not know holiness and does not walk in holiness, what then is the benefit? What then is your benefit of being in a holy ministry and you cannot be holy, perfect, complete and righteous? Go back and take decisions again, except you are leaving the Christian life for mere benefit on earth. But if it is for heaven, then you will change. It is a holy and heavenly calling. Set your heart on it, and live for it, heaven will be yours.
Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Thought for the day: You go to Heaven based on holiness, not your position.
Song for the day: Holy life, you have to live holy lives. You must live holy as an example
