TOPIC: WHO CAN CONTEND WITH THE LORD’S ANOINTED?

TEXT: Psalm 35:1-6
1 Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler and stand up for my help.
3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seeks after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devises my hurt.
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them.

KEY VERSE: Isaiah 41:11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing, and they that strive with thee shall perish.

The Lord will fight for you. He will justify you on that matter. Who is he that will contend with you; who says he will fight you; who says he is going to harm you?  Call that man and let him come and stand with you. Let him contest with you. Who is that your adversary that made himself the adversary of the servant of God? Who is Hamman the adversary of the Jews? He died and left the Jews alone. 

Your enemies shall perish and leave you alone. Let him stand with you, let him come near to you; don’t run, let him come near and see how your God will treat him. Behold, your God will help you. Who is he then that shall condemn you? The worms shall eat them up; judgement shall overtake them, so do not fear. God will handle that matter. 

All that these people were doing in this country; did they succeed? They had their big plan but it cannot stand. They stood mighty in this country but we will dislodge them. We will use them as prey, we will convert this country to our God. We will convert it to our religion and laugh at them. 

Can you convert Jesus to Satan? Can you convert God to another thing and let Satan take over the world? How then can they convert Nigeria to Satan? We are laughing at them because Jesus is on our side. The battle against the wicked one is great, and more is on the way until they plead with you to pray to your God so that He can have mercy on them. They will seek God to serve Him. 

One of the Fulani herdsmen around us came to meet one of our brothers here and said, ‘The Lord is with your pastor. He said many plans were done against him but it boomeranged. God is with your pastor. I want your pastor to pray for me.’ I sent people to him and he gloriously gave his life to Jesus. 

When they were talking with him he said, ‘If you are following a path in the bush and someone who knows the bush more than you tells you that the path you are following is the wrong path, would you not listen to him?’ He said he has heard; he was following the wrong path. He has seen that the Lord is with us. Amen. 

Thought for the day: The Lord of hosts is your defender.
