CHILD UPBRINGING (PARENTING) MONDAY MAY 15 TEXT: PSALMS 127: 1-5 Key verse: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it’’ Proverbs 22: 6 The Bible talks of training the child in the way of the Lord. Child training involves planning, prayers, wisdom and diligence. It is essential to know the nature of children, methods of training children and rewards of effective child training. Children must not to be allowed to live like sheep without shepherd. In Proverbs 29:15b, ‘’But a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame’’. It is the responsibility of the parents to give their children the training that prepares them for lives pleasing to God. The parents are responsible for the Biblical and spiritual training of the children. Negligence or indolence of parents and guardians in child training often leads to regrets, disappointments and sometimes end up in disaster. A child not properly trained and nurtured in the way of God today may bring shame and sorrow to the parents tomorrow. In child training, parent should show no partiality, they should encourage as well as correct or punish when necessary. Parents should instruct with patience and dedicate their lives in love to their children with a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Parents should also teach their children with their lives and not only with their words, this is training by example. Parents need to continually intercede for their children and lift up the children to God in prayers. Let us as parents know that we are merely custodians of the children that, it is by the grace of God that we can bring them up properly. At the end of our journey here on earth we will give account to God of how we handled our children here on earth. Psalm 127:3 says that children are inherited from God. He gives them and God also gave commands on how to raise the children in a way to bring glory and honour to Him. It is the joint responsibility of the parent to train the children in the way of the Lord. Thought for the day: It is the joint responsibility of parents to train children in the way of the Lord. Song for the day: I have no power of my own (x2) I confess to you, Holy Spirit of the Lord . . . Bible reading for the day: 2 Kings 12-14; John 5:25-47 #horemow.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
