TRUE WORSHIPPERS
MONDAY MARCH 6
TEXT: JOHN 4:7-24
Key verse: “Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship” John 4:20.
Many, knowingly or unknowingly forsake the word of God in order to keep the tradition already established by their church fathers. Tradition, if not property handled is a stumbling block in the way of Christian religion. All beliefs, practices and teachings of the Christian faith must come from the Bible and be verified from it. When the woman of Samaria saw how great Jesus was, she showed Him how religious she was. She indicated that she was a worshipper and belonged to a place of worship. Many people today are like this woman. They go to church and belong to a denomination or group of worshippers. Her inherited worship included: the style of worship; activities of worship; things to believe and things not to accept. The problem with inherited tradition is that people see it as the word of God which cannot be changed; it is seen to be as authoritative as the word of God. If the earlier generations were ignorant and ungodly, their doctrine and tradition will certainly be faulty. People are offended when these traditions are rejected.
True Christianity is knowing, believing, practicing and teaching the truth of the Bible. Belief and practice of scriptural truth gives unity of the Christian faith. The woman of Samaria pointed to other worshippers who worshipped elsewhere and complained against them. These other worshippers did not approve the worship of the Samaritans. Here we see denominationalism in the worship of God. Christian denominationalism has the following tendencies; Established traditions and dogmas, which may not be scriptural. True believers should have no confidence in their denomination, but in Christ. Jesus showed that true worship is not belonging to a group of worshippers and denomination, not even the best of them. God is holy and exalts His word above any minister, ministerial title, denomination etc. It is a worship of those who are alive in the spirit and are practicing the word of God.
Thought for the day: True worship involves salvation from sin and a change of life.
Song for the day: You are Alpha and Omega. We worship You our God, You are worthy to be praised
Bible reading for the day: Deuteronomy 1-2; Mark 11:1-19

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
