PROOFS FOR PROPHECIES AND REVELATIONS FRIDAY MARCH 17 TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:19-21 Key verse: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world” 1 John 4:1. Because of the possibilities of errors in prophetic revelations, all manifestations through such means must pass scriptural tests before they can be received. The following are the scriptural tests that authenticate a prophetic revelation to be the word of God: (a) It must be true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praise worthy. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (b) It must be consistent with the message and truth of the whole scripture. Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (c) The prophetic revelation, the circumstance of the revelation, the life of the person giving the revelation message and previous revelation messages given by him, if any, must be carefully investigated to know whether the message is from God or not. 1 Corinthians 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. (d) The message must not be contrary to any portion of the scripture.2 Peter 1:20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 1 Corinthians 14:3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. When the message of Divine revelation or prophetic utterance has been proved to be from God, we are to receive it as the word of God to us to whom it is directed. We should believe it, obey it and act on it for our good. Thought for the day: Revelations must be consistent with the message and truth of the whole scripture. Song for the day: You are worthy to be praised (x2), my Redeemer, You are worthy to be praised. Bible reading for the day: Deuteronomy 29-30; Mark 16 #horemow.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
