ABLE MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL MONDAY MARCH 13 TEXT: 1TIMOTHY 3:1-16 Key verse: “If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto hast attained” 1Timothy 4:6. As God’s messenger to men, the preacher needs the following qualities: He must be faithful to the message and never change it in fear or pity for the people; otherwise God will not be in the message to effect it; He must be fearless, bold and courageous in preaching the word to all categories of men; The preacher must preach sound doctrine that is able to save hearers; The preacher must preach on without minding whether the people receive his message or not; The preacher must not mind persecution and suffering, so as to accomplish his ministry among the people; He must be meek, humble, gentle and loving in his disposition; He must be exemplary in life and character to the believers. As Christ’s servant, called and commissioned by Christ. His loyalty is to Christ and not to man, a denomination or a board. As God’s servant, he must hear the word of God, receive the word from God and know the mind of Christ for himself and for the people. Hearing from God is not just by dreams, vision, inner impression or in audible voice. It involves studying and knowing the written word of God in the holy Bible. Apart from knowing and receiving the word from God, the preacher needs to receive from God, the endowment of the Holy Spirit for power, utterance, signs and wonders to authenticate the gospel. Note however that it is possible to do great miracles with the name of Jesus, preach great messages, and end up like Judas in hell. Hence he must avoid pretense and hypocrisy in all areas of Christian life and ministry. The preacher must learn the life of faith in order to please God and he must be given to life of prayer in order to receive from God and enjoy His bountiful revelations. As God’s servant he must know that suffering for the gospel is the will of God for His ministers exemplified by Christ. Thought for the day: To please God, the minister must be given to life of prayer. Song for the day: Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Bible reading for the day: Deuteronomy 20-22; Mark 14:26-50 #horemow.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
