THE BOOK OF LIFE 
 
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6th

TEXT: REVELATION 20:11-12

Key Verse: Philippians 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow labourers, whose names are in the book of life.  
There is a book of life and there are books of death. These books have names of people from various continents of the world written in them. The books of death have a greater number of names of human beings who have chosen to end their lives in damnation of hell because of pleasures of sin. The book of life is a divine record book where names of various people all over the world who are in the Lord are written with accuracy and precision. The book also contains the record of each believer’s works while on the earth. In the key verse, Apostle Paul mentioned his fellow labourers whose names were in the book of life because they were in the Lord. 
The Holy Spirit can give you an assurance of your name in the book of life as a believer. This imparts a living hope in a holy believer in expectation of the coming of the Lord to rapture the saints. Believers who are victims of the cares of this life and Satan’s deception will have their names removed from the book of life. Deception of Satan pushes you to transgress against the laws and commandments of God. 1 Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
The only assurance of dwelling together with the Lord in the city of God called the New Jerusalem is that your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life. Where is your own name written; In the book of life or in the book of death? The dead, small and great shall stand before God, their Creator, to give account of how they spent their lives on the earth. Those who died in their sins will stand before the Great White Throne Judgment at the second resurrection. What a horrifying scene it shall be! What a fearful pronouncement that will be coming from their Saviour whom they rejected because of pleasures of this life. Transfer your name from the book of death to the book of life now by repenting of your sins and turning to Jesus for a new life.
