BURDEN FOR SOULS OF MEN

God bless you for taking your time to study.  HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW

DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

DATE: WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 2, 2022

TOPIC: BURDEN FOR SOULS OF MEN

TEXT: MATTHEW 9:35-38
35. And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37. Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few;
38. Pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.

KEY VERSE: LAMENTATION 1:16. For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate because the enemy prevailed.

The burden for souls means the passion that a believer has towards the souls of men and women all over the world. Passion for soul-winning is the heart concern in a Christian that leads him to strongly wish for the conversion of sinners to Christ, and work fervently and tirelessly to achieve it.

Driven by his passion, the believer works hard to bring people to Christ’s salvation and righteous living.

Passion comes to the believer when he considers the sinful state of the soul; when he looks at the soul (the sinner) and sees the sins that he commits and sees how sin has taken over him. For example, when he sees a drunkard on the street bouncing on the way, staggering to and fro and speaking foolishly because sin has taken over his life; or he sees a harlot, waiting for whoever she may catch, his passion for souls flares up.

What a passion that comes from the soul winner when he sees people of various types; the idol worshiper dancing on the streets, or women dressed naked just because they have dedicated themselves to the devil. Seeing a policeman dragging someone to the station, beating and slapping him with wounds all over, because he has stolen!

What a concern it gives him to see that they are firing some people because they are armed robbers! He gets troubled the more because of their sinful state, while in God’s judgment; they shall be sentenced to eternal damnation in hell.

We cannot be effective in our soul winning without passion, concern, and a burden in our hearts towards sinners.

“Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of His fierce anger. Lamentation 1:12.

Thought for the day: May God put a burden in your heart towards sinners.

Song for the day: Give me the grace to follow…

Bible reading for the day: Jeremiah 33-35; Titus 3

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
