STUDY THE SCRIPTURES DILIGENTLY TO BE APPROVED OF GOD

For taking your time to study remain blessed.
TOPIC: STUDY THE SCRIPTURES DILIGENTLY TO BE APPROVED OF GOD    June Monday 22nd
Text: 2 Timothy 2: 15-26
Key verse: 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I remember when I was in School of Basic Studies, Zaria, Nigeria in 1984 or 1985. Already, the mind of God was bubbling in me: how to serve God; how to work for God; how to sit down and read the scriptures. I was waiting for the time I would leave the school and be able to have time to really sit down and study the Bible. Eventually, God provided the opportunity but in a most unusual way. There was a time as an Overseer in Deeper Life Bible Church I was placed on discipline for my scriptural stand on the validity of divine revelation, but I accepted it in humility and good faith. It was to last one year and two months. God in His faithfulness turned the evil into good for me as He used that period to create the opportunity I have been longing for, to read and study the Bible.

God used the occasion to pass me through the Bible thoroughly using the Commentaries of about three different Study Bibles. I went through them spending about 2,407 hours reading the Bible. While I was reading, if I had to use the restroom I would deduct the time I spent in the toilet from my hours of study to ensure that the hours I am recording are all for practical study. I was very committed to the study. I must have prayed for about 1,740 hours within that period. If I dozed off during the prayer, I deducted the minutes I dozed off from my calculation of prayer hours. I studied about 7,001 printed literatures. I had an in-depth study of the Dake’s Annotated Bible beginning from Songs of Solomon all through the Old Testament. Because I wanted to understand the end time events very well, I studied the book of Revelation in-depth using three Study Bibles: Dake’s Annotated Bible, Full Life Study Bible and NIV Life Application Study Bible. I was really trained in the scriptures. I commend you too to be trained in scriptures to be approved of God.

Thought for the day: Study the scriptures diligently to be approved of God
Song for the day: Lord teach me Your word (2x), I want to know Your word…
Bible reading for the day:
Esther 4-6; Acts 5:17-42

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. January Saturday 18th TOPIC: HOW TO ATTAIN BIBLE HOLINESS TEXT: Romans 6:20-23 KEY VERSE: Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Besides the essential knowledge of the holy life of a Christian, it is good to understand the manner and process of becoming holy before God. Holiness of life is a life that has overcome sin through the saving power of Jesus Christ. Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. It is a life that does not commit sin. 1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Getting this experience requires four things: 1. Know that apart from holiness, there is no alternative lifestyle for heaven. Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holin...
