TOPIC: THE STANDARD LIFE FOR EVERY HEAVEN BOUND CHRISTIAN December Tuesday 3rd
TEXT: Acts 26: 15 - 18
KEY VERSE: John 9:25 “He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”
From our text, Jesus says, "Go and open their eyes." Why? Their eyes are closed. They are in darkness that they cannot see with their eyes. They don't see and they don't know. This is spiritual darkness. God says they need the opening of their eyes. It means understanding has to come in. You do the things you do because of your lack of understanding. The word of God says "My people perish for lack of knowledge". Open their eyes. That is spiritual awakening and consciousness of God: Awakening unto the Lordship of Jesus; Awakening unto the presence of the Holy Spirit in the world among men; They should awaken unto the authority and authenticity of the Holy Scriptures. It is a living word; Awakening unto eternal reality. They should get awakened unto salvation from sin. Awaken unto the life and knowledge of eternal understanding about the eternal life in heaven and of the judgment of hell. This awakening must be there. They don't know these.
A story was told of a missionary that went to a part of India and preached and told them how Jesus was the Saviour; that He has provided salvation to mankind and through Him we can have access to God. As he was talking about Jesus, an old man raised up his hands and asked, 'Is He coming to our village?' The man said, 'What I'm saying now is about two thousand years ago that Jesus Christ came and accomplished on this earth.' That old man said, 'human beings are wicked! You mean something like that happened here on earth two thousand years ago and nobody bothered to come to our village?'
They are not aware! Who is going to tell them that God is there? Who is going to tell them that Jesus is the son of God? Who is going to tell them about the living book of the Holy Scripture? Who is going to tell them about the blood of Jesus? Who cares to tell them about Heaven, the reward of righteousness, about eternal life, who is there to tell them about the danger of hell fire, that there is a place like hell? Many are not even aware of hell fire. The people that are following these religions are unaware. Go and open their eyes to the vanity of that religion. Go and open their eyes that they may understand the spiritual meaning of the church. They are in darkness. Their works are darkness. They celebrate darkness. They do iniquity, drink iniquity and they spread iniquity. They rejoice in iniquity. Some sacrifice their children because they are in darkness of religion.
