ADOPTION OF CHILDREN SATURDAY JANUARY 28 TEXT: ROMANS 8: 15-17 Key Verse: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father" (Romans 8: 15) Adoption means to accept or claim ownership or parenthood of a child that is not directly your biological child and make the child enjoy the benefits of parenthood through out his life. Adoption is good and acceptable in the sight of God. We were not children of God but He made us to become part of His family, not through the natural process of human conception, but through adoption. God's only begotten son is Jesus Christ, but because we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, God is now pleased with us to make us become the sons of God. We were not children but God has made us children and Jesus is not ashamed to call us his brethren. And God has put His Spirit in us, the same Spirit that was in Christ is now in us, the Spirit of sonship, that cries Abba Father. God called the nation Israel His son, whom he loved. God Himself determined the adoption of believers as children of God. This adoption is not the result of any work or merit of the believers, but solely on God's love and grace. Bringing a person into a family by means of adoption is done by choice and out of love. Note that our Lord Jesus Christ was adopted and raised by Joseph, his mother's husband, who took Him as his own son. God chose His son to be adopted. If adoption was good enough for the son of God, then it is a blessing for God's people. Moses a great prophet of God, who God used to deliver His people from captivity, was adopted and brought up by Pharaoh's daughter, who took him as her son, and named him Moses. Samuel, another great prophet of God who judged Israel, was adopted by Eli the high priest. Esther, who God used to deliver Israel, was adopted by Mordecai. Adoption is a biblical principle by which we become children of God. It is one of the ways God fulfills His promises of giving children to the barren (Ps 113:9). Finally, it is part of the ways God shows compassion to the fatherless on earth. Thought for the day: Adoption is a biblical principle by which we become children of God Song for the day: We are heirs of the Father we are joint-heirs with the Son..... Bible reading for the day: Exodus 16-18 Matthew 19:16-30 #horemow.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
