Qualifications For Christian Ministers

Friday 15th May

Text: 1 Timothy 3: 1-13
Key Verse: A Bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (1 Timothy 3:2).
The gospel minister should have the following qualifications:
Blamelessness:  Unlawful acts, masturbation, irresponsible living, falling and rising and lies in Ministry must not be mentioned on you. A Bishop must be blameless.
Husband of one wife: Check the history of your workers and ministers to ascertain their marital status. When the blind leads the blind, you expect accident for both. In the early churches, letters were written to authenticate pastors before they were permitted to minister. Check the preachers you are inviting to be sure they are in Christ. Many of them have married before, divorced their wife and remarried.
Vigilance (watchfulness): Is the minister the type that is very careful about his life or he lives anyhow? Does he or she have the ability to teach? Check for self-control. He must not be given to wine; no covetousness or money-mongering. He should be of good character.
One That Teacheth Well His Own Household: Do pastors these days bother about their homes? Do they care about the behaviour of their family members? In Biblical standards, children and wives are the certificates of their husbands. “I know Abraham because he will command his children and household after Me.” If your husband is among the chosen 300 soldiers of Gideon, why are you trying to disqualify him?
Not A Novice: Many that receive divine revelations are now church founders and pastors. The man that repented last year is now your general overseer or senior pastor. Don’t give position to novice. They should learn under holiness preachers.
Must Have Good Report Among Them Who Are Without: Is Saul also among the Prophets? They knew Saul was not. Be somebody whom the people know and can vouch for. Let even the unbelievers testify that you are a genuine minister.

Thought For The Day: All God’s workers should meet God’s standard for the work.

Song For The Day: Stand up, stand up for Jesus…

For taking your time to study remain blessed. UNDERSTANDING ETERNITY WEDNESDAY MAY 10 TEXT: Psalm 90: 1 - 2 Key Verse: “The Lord is King forever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land Psalm 10:16 People that understand eternity are always careful. Eternity means forever and ever, it means ever-lasting, ever-living, never dying. Trillion upon trillion years, eternity is still on, in fact it is life without end. There are two extreme ends of eternity: The kingdom of God called third heaven where God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Ghost, twenty-four elders, saints of God that make heaven, holy angels of God, and entire host of heaven dwell now presently; Hell-fire, where Satan, demons, and sinners that have died in their sins are presently kept. God is the One that introduced eternity. He lives forever. It is not a choice, the One who created us is forever, hence you will live forever, but what matters is where you will live eternally. Remove God from the way, then t...
PRACTICE OF PRAYER AND FASTING.  WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1 TEXT: ISAIAH 58:1-8                                                                                                        Key verse: “And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day”  Luke 2:37. The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...

Pastor Paul Rika’s Burden, Vision and Action To Reach the Unreached (2)

God's blessings will continually accompany you for dedicating time to your studies. Pastor Paul Rika’s Burden, Vision and Action To Reach the Unreached (2) Wednesday 15th October TEXT: Titus 3: 3-6   Key verse: Titus 3: 6 “Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.” I remember I was in Sao Tome and Principe as a deeper life national overseer and I was writing the book, “Divine Revelation of God’s Holiness and Judgment.” The vision the Lord gave to Michael Sambo. I was translating it into a book, with the scriptural backups to make it a sound evangelistic book. I saw that truly the world is doomed. What will I say about those who have not known Jesus among the 7 billion people on earth; those who do not even have anything to do with Him? Do I speak of the billions in Asia without understanding of Jesus? Out of the 1.4 billion in India, they are struggling to record 150 million Christians including Catholics.  Who knows Jesus then? Even among Pentecosta...
