Record Keeping And Holiness In Ministry

Sunday 3rd May

Text: Matthew 1:1-17
Key Verse: Exodus 17:14 And the Lord said unto Moses, write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
The Holy Scripture is a book of record that shows the mind and works of God among men. It gives a glimpse of the works of God in heaven and the whole universe. In the Holy Bible, you will find statistics of the number of people, family members, genealogy, firstborn, meetings and so on. For instance, it tells us that five thousand people ate the five loaves and two fishes, apart from women and children, two people were on their way to Emmaus when resurrected Jesus met them, one hundred and twenty people were in the upper room on the day of Pentecost.  Also, you will find out in the scriptures that records of finances were diligently kept and strictly supervised, for the sake of holiness and righteousness.
Following this pattern, there should be books of record in the church, to record events such as miracles, properties acquired, crusades held, people who left and why they left, etc. Such a record is valuable for posterity and future reference. Even God keeps record of his words and works in the Bible. Record keeping helps you keep track of God's grace in your ministry, the mileage you have covered and how to do more. God Himself is keeping record of the lives of individuals against the day of judgment (Revelation 20:11-15).
If you understand that you have to give an account of all your activities to God, whether in your private life, ministry or public service, then you need to keep a good record in order that you may not be found wanting. Record keeping pleases the heart of God because it is a sign of transparency, accountability and integrity. It is proof that you are a faithful servant who diligently does his work and keeps record in order that when your Master comes, you will be able to give a good account of your service.

Thought For The Day: Be diligent in record keeping because it pleases God.

Song For The Day: Christian, walk carefully

For taking your time to study remain blessed. UNDERSTANDING ETERNITY WEDNESDAY MAY 10 TEXT: Psalm 90: 1 - 2 Key Verse: “The Lord is King forever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land Psalm 10:16 People that understand eternity are always careful. Eternity means forever and ever, it means ever-lasting, ever-living, never dying. Trillion upon trillion years, eternity is still on, in fact it is life without end. There are two extreme ends of eternity: The kingdom of God called third heaven where God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Ghost, twenty-four elders, saints of God that make heaven, holy angels of God, and entire host of heaven dwell now presently; Hell-fire, where Satan, demons, and sinners that have died in their sins are presently kept. God is the One that introduced eternity. He lives forever. It is not a choice, the One who created us is forever, hence you will live forever, but what matters is where you will live eternally. Remove God from the way, then t...

Every Word Of God For Daily Living For taking your time to study remain blessed July Tuesday 9th TOPIC: WE ARE IN THE TWILIGHT HOUR OF RAPTURE TEXT: Ephesians 5:26-27 KEY VERSE: Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Seeing the traces of the features of the next dispensation in this present dispensation, you should know that you are in the twilight hour. What is a twilight hour? A twilight hour is that hour of the day that you begin to see the traces of the night while it is still daylight (probably 7:00pm to 7:30pm). It is not completely dark, yet it is not complete bright either. While it is still day, you are seeing the traces of the night. A twilight hour is the hour when you are still in this dispensation but you are already seeing traces of the next. The twilight hour is the time that our Lord Jesus Christ was born and even though He came with the New Test...
