THE GOODNESS OF GOD

God bless you for taking your time to study.

TOPIC: THE GOODNESS OF GOD

SATURDAY JULY 30th

TEXT: PSALMS 136:1-6

Key Verse: Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Goodness is one of the attributes of God that has been clearly made manifest in Scriptures. Right from the time of creation, God demonstrated His goodness to man; Adam and Eve, the only creatures whom the Lord made in His own image deliberately disobeyed Him. The immediate consequences of the fall of man were the consciousness of his physical nakedness and the shame thereof, fear of God’s judgment and hiding of self from God.
God saw that man has brought shame upon himself. He demonstrated His goodness by covering man’s nakedness. However, the goodness and judgment of God go hand in hand. Romans 11:22. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Never take God’s goodness for granted and remain a sinner. He will cut you off from eternal life.
In our text, however, it is obvious that the goodness of God finds expression in His mercy. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness (Lamentation 3:22-23). God renews His mercy plan for unbelievers and backsliders daily and waits patiently for any who will wisely take advantage of this provision to enjoy forgiveness of sins and cleansing from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).
He foreordained man for salvation and holy living from the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:3-6). God’s protection and preservation of man and much more are all proofs of His goodness. In view of this, you should be able to delete whatever picture of God the devil might have painted in your mind. He painted God as unfair to Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:1-5) but presented himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). God is forever good to you and to all.

Thought for the day: Repent now while the goodness and mercy of God last.

Song for the day: Oh Lord you have been so good, you are so good to me

Bible reading for the day:

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
