DOUBLE CURE FOR SIN

FOR TAKING YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD REMAIN BLESSED.

TOPIC: DOUBLE CURE FOR SIN

DATE: MONDAY MAY 3rd

TEXT: EPHESIANS 5: 25-27

KEY VERSE: John 17: 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

The Scriptures present sin in two forms: the practice of sin and the inherent nature of sin. This two-fold nature of sin requires a two-fold approach to overcome sin completely.

The inherited nature of sin manifests after salvation experience in some believers as an inner irritation, an unholy passion within a man that stirs up unrighteous desires, and appetites that are contrary to God's demands.

The cravings of this sinful nature are entirely contrary to God and it will never surrender to the laws of God. This usually baffles the true believer who is both astonished and ashamed of the appearance of such base thoughts and desires.

Its sole purpose is to influence the believer to engage in sinful ways of life. It is this manifestation of the sin that the second definite Christian experience or work of grace called sanctification deals with.

In our key verse, Jesus prayed to the Father that His disciples might have this definite experience. At this point, these disciples had been with Him for more than three years.

He prayed this prayer for these disciples and for as many who will come to salvation as a result of receiving His words. Salvation and Sanctification are two different experiences.

If the Lord Jesus prayed for His disciples to receive this second work of grace, it establishes the fact that all those who profess to be His disciples must fervently seek this second work of grace in their lives also. It is needful to rid oneself of all inner strivings, evil passions, and all the sinful tendencies within one's heart.

From our text, the Scriptures tell us how Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her to present her unto Himself without spot or blemish. Jesus gave Himself to sanctify His Bride (the Church) – to cleanse her of all filth and unrighteousness and to make her fit for Himself. When the believers become sanctified, the glory of God will manifest in the church.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

The Source Of Faith

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. The Source Of Faith  Tuesday 18th March Text: Romans 1:16-17 Key Verse: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 What is the foundation for our faith? The faith of the just man has the following sources, from where it gets its inspiration. The Word Of God: The foundation of the faith of the just, is the word of God.  The word of God is the production room of the faith which the just exercises. The faith of the just has its foundation in what God has said in His word.  Faith seeks for what God has said to stand upon.  Have you seen the promises of God for you, from the word? Have you seen God's message for you, in the scriptures?  Believe it absolutely, and it shall surely come to pass. This will enhance your faith for subsequent needs of your life. “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, ...
