TOPIC: SUPPORT EVANGELISM WITH YOUR MONEY AND MATERIAL RESOURCES

TEXT: Acts 4:32-37

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things common.

33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

KEY VERSE: Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 

The great commission that Christ has given to all His disciples is to go and preach the gospel to every human being on earth, to make disciples of them, and to prepare them for eternal life through the ministry of the word of God.

The great commission requires the following:

i. To locate sinners and present to them a clear message of repentance from sin and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is required to make the sinners turn from their idolatry, witchcraft, fornication, adultery, drunkenness, theft, hatred, etc. to the new life in Christ.

ii. To teach the disciples all the word of God so that they may grow and mature in the knowledge of God and of scriptural truths. In this way, they will enjoy the life of righteousness and holiness, have access to God, receive an answer to prayers, have the privilege of Christian service, experience victory over Satan and his temptations, and enjoy all spiritual blessings in Christ.

iii. The exercise of wisdom in soul winning and in the management of human and material resources for gospel success. He that will win souls of men to Christ and perfect them for eternal life must be wise. Wisdom is the principal thing required in human administration and coordination of effective means and methods to achieve the desired goal.

With the co-operation of Christ-like givers in the early church, the church got established and has flourished to this day. God did not drop money, foodstuff and other material provisions for the sustenance of the apostles and early believers from the sky. He used men and women who were willing and kind-hearted to supply the needs of the people of God. That helped to prolong the revival and mature the church which was newly formed then. 

Similarly, with the co-operation of Christ-like givers in this end time, we shall witness the greater conversion of souls to Christ and righteousness and holiness shall return to the church. May the Lord raise you to support and maintain this end-time revival that is preparing the church for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
