For taking your time to study remain blessed. STRONG DRINK SUNDAY FEBRUARY 19 TEXT: PROVERBS 23:29-35 Key verse: “…Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God” 1 CORINTHIANS 6:10. Two types of wine are stated in scripture; the non-alcoholic and the alcoholic. Paul instructed Timothy to take the unfermented, non-alcoholic wine, for his stomach ache and often infirmity. Jesus turned water into this kind of wine. The other wine is strong drink, called fermented wine and contains alcohol. It is intoxicating liquor. The intoxicating wine makes one a mocker, raging, deceitful, makes one a fool, it brings woes, sorrow, contention, causes babbling, wounds, ulcers, cancers, other sicknesses. It makes the eyes red, it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder to their spirit and body. It is poisonous and leads to lust and immorality. It leads to perverse speech, it causes reeling to and fro, it makes one unconscious of his environment and susceptible to human hurts. It puts one into dead sleep, sleep in the gutter and other shameful acts. It makes one a captive and leads to poverty. Iit makes rulers forget the law and pervert judgment. It makes preachers err from the faith. It makes the victims dirty and stinking by their vomit and evil smell. It makes one a child of the devil and brings curses upon the victims. The scripture speaks against the use of alcoholic drinks. Children of God should not take alcohol. True churches of God should not use strong drink for the Lord’s super. Therefore; Put away your wine from you, Look not on the wine when it is red, It is not for kings to drink wine or strong drink, Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess, The Bishop must not take strong drink, Keep not company with one who says he is a believer but is a drunkard, Do not give strong drink to anyone, Drinking alcoholic beverages is a sin and must be repented of. There are those who are addicted to this and require deliverance, whoever practices this evil thing knows that other sins are associated to it and must repent genuinely. He must call upon Jesus in sincere faith for forgiveness and deliverance. There must be complete separation from sinful companions and sinful places. Thought for the day: Wine is a mocker; do not let it mock you. Be filled with the Spirit. Song for the day: Holy Spirit, move me now; and make my life whole again, Spirit move… Bible reading for the day: Numbers 1-2; Mark 3:1-21 #horemow.

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
