HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW
DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR.
DATE: TUESDAY OCTOBER 27, 2026.
TOPIC: KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE OF THE SCRIPTURES MAKES THE MINISTER
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 3:15-17
15. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
KEY VERSE: JEREMIAH 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to Mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
A true ministry produces a true preacher by directing that preacher to the word of God. It is the word that raises up true ministers. It is the word that produces true and holy converts. A true minister preaches the sound word of God and the fruits of his preaching are sound Christians.
Knowledge and understanding are from the Scriptures. Preach from the bible. Many preachers today don’t open the bible to preach; they may just quote one verse. Some will quote here and tell story there and nothing changes in the lives of the people. It is knowledge of the word of God and obedience to it that makes a man spiritual.
Timothy, from his childhood, was committed to the scriptures. He was made wise by the scriptures. The word of God builds up your faith in Christ. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for teaching, Christian character and lifestyle. It is used to correct, rebuke and reprove people when they go off from the path of righteousness. It is for instructing people on the way they should live.
The knowledge and practice of scripture make a man of God perfect and thoroughly furnished unto all good works. A pastor who is deficient in the knowledge of the bible makes do with telling his congregation stories to make them laugh. Since he does not have message, they spend more time dancing.
The preachers don’t give attention to study of the word of God and so have nothing to offer the people. In conferences of Holiness Revival Movement worldwide, our preachers testify of how God has been helping them read the bible with commentaries from the beginning to the end of the year. They equally testify of amazing number of our ministry messages they listened to and books they have read. God is glorified with great exploits they have done in hours of prayer, days of fasting and souls won in evangelism.
Thought for the day: Knowledge and obedience of scriptures birth spirituality.
Song for the day: Something more than gold, I have something more than silver.
Bible reading for the day: Luke 13-15
