TOPIC: WE ARE COMMISSIONED TO OPEN THE EYES OF MEN  

TEXT: ACTS 26:17-19 
17. “Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 
18. To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
19. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:”

KEY VERSE: ACTS 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctify by faith that is in me. 

We are commissioned to open the eyes of men because they lack understanding. We have a mandate to open their eyes; it is a spiritual awakening that is connected with the consciousness of God. Awaken them to the authority and authenticity of the Scriptures, to the knowledge of eternal life in heaven and of the judgment of hell and to salvation from sin. This awakening must take place but they don't know this. 

A story was told of a missionary that went to a part of India and preached and told them how Jesus was the Savior; that He has provided salvation to mankind and through Him we can have access to God. As he was talking about Jesus, an old man rose up his hand and asked, ‘is He coming to our village?’ 

The missionary said, ‘what I'm saying now took place about two thousand years ago; that Jesus Christ came and has accomplished it on this earth.’ That old man said, ‘human beings are wicked! You mean something like that happened here on earth two thousand years ago and nobody bothered to come to our village?’ They are not aware!  

Who will tell them about God, Jesus, the holy bible, the blood of Jesus, the reward of righteousness, eternal life in heaven and the danger of hell fire? Go and open the eyes of people that are following false religions to the vanity of that religion. People in backslidden churches are waiting for you to open their eyes to understand the rebellious state of the church. 

Turn them from darkness to light. They do iniquity, drink iniquity, spread iniquity and rejoice in iniquity. Some sacrifice their children because they are blinded and don't know any other way. They are in darkness of religion that even makes them to fight the living God and they are not aware. Darkness of hatred. It makes them hate one another even in the church.
