Do Not Engage In Back to Sender Prayer

Text: 2 Chronicles 14:13, 14
Key verse: Matthew 5: 48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
Back to sender is another kind of prayer some misguided people often make for the plague sent against them to go back to whoever sent it. This is not only a display of ignorance but rebellion. Many plagues sent against sinners and backsliders come from God Who intends to bring them to repentance, righteousness and holiness. When you see a plague in your life, you cannot quickly say, ‘Back to sender’. You may be sending the plague back to God! The first thing to do is to examine yourself whether you have sinned to warrant God allowing such affliction to come upon you. If the Holy Spirit brings your sins before you, what you need to do is to confess your sins to God and repent of them. Then you can ask God in humility and patience to remove the plague from you. The merciful God will both forgive you and heal you. 
If you are in Christ's righteousness and holiness, then the plague is an attack of the devil against you. Even at this point you will not pray back to sender prayer, because the plague Satan designed for men who are flesh and blood, cannot have effect upon him who is a spirit being. Satan and demons cannot be barren, have ulcer, or suffer from unemployment and poverty. You should rather aim to overcome him in your life by faith, prayer, God's word and the name of Jesus to destroy his plagues. 
Satan may use a human agent to inflict you with a plague but see the devil behind the human agent and war against him using spiritual weapons given to believers in the scripture. Your victory over Satan may also bring deliverance to the human agent who is under his captivity. Some false ministers advise afflicted people to read some portions of the book of psalms at odd hours; others advise people to take a particular posture, face a particular direction, indulge in some strange or sinful activities for their prayers to be answered. This is occultism and true believers must steer clear. Never engage in back to sender prayer against human enemies. It is not scriptural.
