Working In The Will Of God
Saturday 13th September
TEXT: James 5: 7-11
Key verse: James 5: 8 “Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”
Working in the will of God is working by His guidance. God is the One to direct the actions. He is the Captain; we are following Him. He is the One to direct us to the place and position we should take. Working for heaven is working by the guidance of God and by the supply of grace from God. Working not by our own mechanical strength but by the supply of grace. Always look to Him. Jesus Christ said when thou pray, say “Our Father, which art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom, come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Always ask for daily grace for the work He has called you to do that you might do it by His spirit, anointing, guidance and instruction. Always ask for daily grace. It is working for heavenly reward, not for earthly reward for our works may not and cannot be rewarded upon the earth. Working for heaven involves working together to gather saints for heaven. The Lord is not coming to carry money or cars from this earth to heaven. He is not coming to inherit houses. He is coming to carry souls.
Working for heaven is the highest work and so requires the highest qualification. Heaven is a great place; the headquarters of the universe. Heaven is the throne of God. Hence working for heaven is working for God and if you must work for God, you must be qualified for it. Not all that are working now are working for God because they are not qualified. If an Army General is visiting a particular place and they gather the soldiers to parade, they will inspect them to know who is qualified to present himself before this General? What about the living God? Now we have much to learn today. The reward of working for heaven is so great and fabulous that it cannot be done by casual people. Those who are not righteous and holy, those who are unclean are not qualified to work for heaven. For the unclean shall never walk there. The scriptures says that there is a highway; the way of the Lord. The unclean shall not walk there. They are not called by God for the Lord will not call a sinner.
Thought for the day: If you must work for God, you must be qualified for it.
Song for the day: It pays to serve Jesus
Bible reading for the day: Daniel 9-12
