Spirituality Is Required, Not Carnality  

Friday 19th September 

Text: Galatians 1: 10 - 12 
Key verse: Psalm 101 verse 3: “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes, I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me”. 
The Psalmist here resolved not to appreciate the service of those that turn away, who live in sin and hypocrisy. He shall not delight in such service. It is as valueless as a cloud without rain, an empty well without water; valueless! Should we give people flattering titles because they did this and that, and the person is not in Christ? I will not give him an eye of approval or a comment of approval. You that is praying for leadership, and for me “Oh God help Pastor Paul Rika, let this work stand”. Pray in this line too “That at no time should Pastor Paul Rika leave the spiritual for carnality; that at no time should he leave the honour of Jesus Christ for the honour of himself or man at no time should spiritual service turn to fleshly service.” 
Be resolved not to seek acquaintance, friendship or intimacy with any one whose life and character is wicked. He will not draw him closer, use him, nor pet him. He will not regard him because of his wickedness. Do you make friendship with those that hate the Lord? Do you now pardon the Lord's enemy? Do you draw him closer to yourself? The judgment that would have been his own shall come to you. You will share it together. Do not respect a wicked person. Somebody commits adultery in your church without repentance yet you respect him and even make him to sit on the altar. Is that the church of Christ? No! 
You are not a godly leader because you make friendship with God's enemy. Resolve that you will not do that. Tell yourself, “I will not know; I will not respect, I will not regard a wicked person.” He does wickedness to his wife, why do you give him honour as if he is not the one that maltreats his wife; throws her down and matches her under foot. He does all these things yet you tell him to come and preach. Do not respect a wicked person! He is an evil man that does wicked things. Do you still give him honour? The presence of God will not be there with you in your church or ministry.
