TOPIC: I LOVE MAN WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE
TEXT: Jeremiah 31:1-6
TUESDAY JUNE 20TH
KEY VERSE: Jeremiah 31:3 “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.”
My children must very frequently ponder the love with which I watch over them. They must become increasingly aware of this love, which takes in everything all their possibilities, all their choices, all that is within them, all the circumstances surrounding them. Truly it is a covering of love. Yes, the One who watches over you is your Friend. This implies concern and it implies faithfulness; it implies desire on My part to bring you through every difficult place. Remember that I gave my life for you which means lasting love. Your need is therefore very near to My heart always.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Mathew 11:28-30.
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:22.
Progress is slowed immeasurably when you allow exceptions to rules made for yourself for My sake. When an exception is consciously and wilfully made in the way of obedience, it means that precious gains achieved with Me are needlessly thrown away. Exceptions allowed, where there should have been firmness, simply means that the way is open to yet more lapses. Returning to old ways, which you were beginning to leave behind, means that evil can invade and cause a sequence of trouble. If, in response to My love, you are intent upon avoiding all sin, you know that I am pledged to help you. Your confidence in My absolute sufficiency is the way to hold on to those gains you have made in the spiritual life.
