NEED FOR WATER BAPTISM AND HOLY GHOST BAPTISM

TEXT: ACTS 19:1-7

Key verse: And I knew Him not: but He that sent me to baptize with water, the

same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining

on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.” (John 1:33).

Having given your life to Jesus Christ, you will need to submit yourself to water baptism. Water baptism follows repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The scriptural water baptism is one immersion into water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 28:19).

Water baptism is not for ignorant and unconverted children, nor for unrepentant adults. Those who were baptized when they were still sinners must be baptized after they have truly repented and given their lives to Jesus Christ. The apostles practiced water baptism according to the instruction given to them by the Lord, hence they baptized converts as authorized by the Lord in Mathew 28:19.

Baptism with the Holy Ghost or gift of the Holy Ghost is the coming of the Holy Spirit upon a believer in baptismal measure with the purpose of filling him with power for effective Christian service. All believers are promised baptism with the Holy Spirit by God. This is received by prayer and faith in God's promises. The scriptural evidence of the baptism with the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues as the Spirit inspires. Speaking in tongues as evidence of the baptism with the Holy Spirit is given to every believer who is baptized with the Holy Spirit for the purpose of prayer and personal edification. This is however different from speaking in diverse tongues as a ministerial gift in the manner of the gifts of prophecy, healing, working of miracles, etc. which God does not give to every believer.

Thought for the day: Receive both to be a full member of the Body of Christ.

Song for the day: Holy Ghost fire, fire fall on me, like in the day of Pentecost.

Bible reading for the day: Isaiah 37-38; Philippians 3

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
