For taking your time to study remain blessed. TOPIC: YOU MUST BE DIFFERENT    SEPTEMBER Saturday 1st TEXT: Daniel 1:3-7 KEY VERSE: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.  Daniel 1: 8 Daniel distinguished himself in exemplary living.  He attended a 3-year course at the school of the gifted that was set up by king Nebuchadnezzar. He was there with three other Hebrew boys. The school was to prepare intelligent minds for high positions in government. As meal, they were offered food from the king’s table. But this food was first sacrificed to idols before they are served and righteous Daniel knew this. Daniel stood out of the crowd of students and rejected the food. The power of his exemplary life influenced the other three Hebrew boys, who joined him to reject the food. “But Daniel...

TOPIC: THE JOY IN TEACHING THE TRUTH        AUGUST Friday 31st TEXT: 3 John 1- 4 KEY VERSE: Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. Proverbs 23: 23 It is a great joy to know the truth and a greater joy to impact it in others and see it manifest in holy and righteous living.  That is why I emphasis the truth and labour to make it so clear, leaving nothing to ambiguity. I have no hesitation in going to where people fear to tread in order to shine the light of God there and not leave the people in darkness. The truth becomes manifest and God is happy about it. We appreciate God for this grace. In another dimension, it is painful and sorrowful to see multitudes in churches where the Spirit of God is not present. God is not there, yet they are excited, they dance, they shout. It is very disturbing. What can be done in the circumstance? How can you have access to these peopl...

TOPIC:  FAITH IS BELEIVING AND ACTING ON THE WORD OF GOD AUGUST Thursday 30th TEXT: Romans 1:16-17 KEY VERSE: Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10: 38 Faith is to be understood in two respects. The first aspect refers to teachings delivered to the church which is the whole bible. Revelation of divine truth delivered unto us. Teachings on repentance, salvation, restitution, sanctification, baptism in Holy Ghost, prayer etc. Jude 1:3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. The second aspect of faith is active faith, which makes you contact God for His blessing, miracle and power that you might receive the desires of your heart. It is active faith that connects a sinner to Go...

TOPIC: PEACE MAKERS AMONG BRETHREN        AUGUST Wednesday 29th TEXT: 1 Samuel 25: 14-31 KEY VERSE: Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5: 9 Jesus is a peacemaker. He is the Mediator between God and man. He offered Himself as a sacrificial Lamb to reconcile man back to God. He is the Prince of peace.   Jesus demonstrated this virtue in His life and teachings during His earthly ministry. He has also called His children to the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. Jesus does not only want to promote peace among brethren in church, but also wants to raise peacemakers in Holiness Movement that will propagate the gospel of peace in this turbulent world. Peacemakers make peace through reconciliation. They are able to make peace...

TOPIC:  FACING THE CHALLENGES OF WIDOWHOOD         AUGUST Tuesday 28th TEXT: Deuteronomy 30:15-19 KEY VERSE: Who is among you that feareth the Lord that obeyeth the voice of his servant that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God. Isaiah 50: 10 Even though widowhood produces many challenges, the widow can still live a life of holiness and righteousness and remain heaven-bound. It is a matter of personal decision. Let's examine the case of two widows. In Ruth 1:4-18, two women faced the same circumstance but chose different paths of widowhood.  Some widows became second wives, concubines and harlots because they could not take the right decision. Ruth was determined that she would not let herself be abused because of widowhood. God who made the mouth knows how to fill the stomach. God who made the body knows how to kill the sensual desire ...
TOPIC: GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN        AUGUST Monday 27th TEXT: Philippians: 4:11-13 KEY VERSE: But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6: 6 Why don't you wait on God for your needs? Why must you steal to pay your children’s school fees? Is it not a curse the father is bringing on the children through the accursed thing? You want to mortgage their lives to Satan? Why not be patient with God as you wait on His promise? The Bible says in Psalm 37:25, “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” In one of the locations I pastored in Deeper Life Bible Church, I paid my tithe as usual during one of the services. Surprisingly, when the offering and tithes were counted after service to enable us take some money and buy something we needed for the church, the whole money was less than the tithe I paid. More surprisingly, another member said he too had paid a tithe which w...

TOPIC: REMOVE THE OBSTACLE TO YOUR HEAVENLY RACE (4) – THE WORLD        AUGUST Sunday 26th TEXT: 1 John 2:15-17 KEY VERSE: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4: 4 The cares of this world and friendship with the world will shift your focus from Jesus and distract you from the heavenly race. 2 Timothy 4:10, “For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.” Here, Paul was saying, Demas was with me, he agreed with me, agreed with my doctrine and preached what I preached. He was one of the ministers of the gospel but the love of the world overcame him and he succumbed. The attractions of this world will blind you to the reality of the beauty of heaven. Some of the countries of the world look so g...
