Beware Of False Apostles And Deceitful Workers

Friday 22nd August

TEXT: Matthew 12:33-35
Key verse: Matthew 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
Many ministers are not of righteousness. They may have zeal but not in righteousness. The bible says that if any man desires the office of a bishop, he desires a good thing. But a bishop should have qualities in life. Some employ ministers from one place to another. If a man claims to be a minister of the gospel, you need to prayerfully verify him. Lay hand suddenly on no man and be not partaker of another man's sin. How long have you known that man? Except for this commercial ministry that people do to spoil the name of Jesus. Do you know him? Have you gotten enough report with him? Does not the Bible say he should not be a novice lest being lifted up by pride he falls under the condemnation of the devil. How long have you observed him that you are now employing him to be a minister under your ministry? Your ministry is not a serious and diligent one. Your ministry is not given to truth, righteousness and holiness.
If you want good fruit, the tree must be good. Engraft a good tree upon your own, it will produce good fruit. Otherwise that sour tree will normally produce sour fruits. It is a law. If a minister is known to be immoral and you transfer him to another place, will he change? Can a leopard change its spots or can an Ethiopian change his skin? This man that you failed to handle well; to chisel immorality out of him but you are changing his location. What if he goes and discovers a convenient place for immorality there? It is when the ministers are not righteous, intelligent, right, wise or in truth that their works are corrupt like themselves. They cannot produce any good thing. Make the tree good and its fruit will be automatically good. Or else make the tree corrupt and its fruit will be corrupt. For the tree is known by its fruits

Thought for the day: Make the tree good and its fruit will be automatically good

Song for the day: There is a great change, since I am born again

Bible reading for the day: Lamentations 1-2

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
