Activities For The Edification Of Worshippers

Sunday 31st August

Text: I Corinthians 12:7-11
Key verse: 1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
A: The gifts of the Spirit operated unhindered in the early church. Today’s text reveals these gifts as the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, the gifts of healing, the working of miracles, prophesy, discerning of spirits, diverse kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues. They may not manifest in every worship service. The congregation must be willing and ready to welcome their manifestation and operation during the worship service for the edification of worshippers. This should be done decently and in order; for God is not the author of confusion.
B: Psalms and songs of praise should be sung during the worship service for the honor of God and edification of the worshippers. Singing is a good activity in the worship service. The worshippers in the church must set their hearts on God and sing to His praise and worship. God is holy and accepts the service that is done with a pure heart. Thus, the choir members must be pure and holy. More effort should be made to keep themselves spiritually fit for this service than in becoming expert singers. Songs minister to the edification of worshippers, hence, singers must sing well. The words of the songs should be clear and in the language the worshippers understand, otherwise they will be ministering to the air:
The attire and singing demonstration of a holy choir must not be offensive to God. They must abstain from worldliness such as decoration with jewelry, earrings, nose rings, chains, necklace, bracelets, beads, fashionable hairdos, perming, use of hair attachment, weave-on, bleaching, lipsticks, cortex, painting, artificial fingers nails, and eye lashes. The women must not put on trousers or tight-fitting dresses; their skirt must be long enough to cover their knees in sitting position. The men too should dress properly as holy Christians, avoiding worldly hair-cut and dressing. They must be of good behavior and should have good report of those that know them. Provision is normally made during the worship service for the worshippers to sing.

Thought for the day: Worshippers should sing with pure hearts and holy lives.

Song for the day: In the presence of God, Alleluia joy

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...

The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.

God's blessings will continually accompany you for dedicating time to your studies. The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.  Monday 10th November  Text: Jude 1: 2-5 Key verse: Jude 1: 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. The faith of Jesus has already been delivered and it is written in the scriptures. Whatever prophecies, revelations or dreams that comes must not be contrary to the standard in the scripture. They must speak the same thing. The testimony of Jesus is spirit of prophecy. Every prophecy or revelation must honour Jesus and must be according to the written word. Even where they are new things, they must not contradict because the Bible is a summary of the things Jesus did. The Bible cannot contain all things. It must be according to what the scripture has already signified, ...
